Good qualifying Saturday for the FlexBox HP 40 at the Assen Circuit with a big step forward from Garzó.
After leading the second free practice under wet conditions and looking for the feeling in dry, Garzó went out on track today confident of continuing on the good line of work and doing a good last free practice to prepare well for the qualifying in the afternoon. Being forced to go through Q1, Garzó has overcome the cut and has entered the group of rider who would play for the pole position. Setting a good lap of 1:36.802, Garzó has placed himself in a very good fifth position on the starting grid tomorrow, in a race in which the rider of the FlexBox HP 40 will be able to fight for the places of honor.
Most complicated day for Stefano Manzi. After a good start of the weekend, today he has again suffered problems to be able to ride comfortably with his Kalex and achieve the times. The FlexBox HP 40 rider will start tomorrow from 23rd position with a better time of 1:37.181 and confident of making a comeback.
Héctor Garzó, 5th, 1: 36.802 (+0.446)
"First time on this circuit for me. Yesterday we had a pretty good day, and today in the morning we found a couple of things that worked well for us. In Q1 we worked well and we were able to enter Q2 and do a good lap. It's amazing to be back at Assen, a circuit I didn't know and to do it this way. Tomorrow we started from fifth position and aspired to everything. Thanks to Sito, the team and the sponsors, tomorrow we are going for a good Sunday racing."
Stefano Manzi, 23rd 1: 37.181 (+0.406)*
"It was not a good day today. This morning we were not fast enough and we went through Q1. Unfortunately, we start very far and I am disappointed as we had started the weekend well, but today we were not able to ride faster."
