The Assen Grand Prix started on Friday with the first two practice sessions, with the weather as the protagonist: in the morning under dry conditions and, in the afternoon, in wet conditions.
Garzó, who missed the last Grand Prix due to injury, has returned today and did so in good shape on a track that he did not know. In the morning he started his adaptation process and followed him underwater in the afternoon, leading the session. He finished the twenty-sixth day and tomorrow he is optimistic about continuing to improve.
Good first day also for Manzi, taking an important step forward. The Italian of the FlexBox HP 40 was fast in the dry, achieving eighth position, with a best time of 1: 37.556, finishing the day in that same position on the combined time.
Stefano Manzi, 8th, 1: 37.556 (+0.812)
“I am very happy with today. In the morning on dry we were fast, being eighth. In the afternoon and in the water it was more difficult for us, but in the end I am happy with having recovered the feeling and being fast today ”.
Héctor Garzó, 26th, 1: 38.968 (+2.224)
“First time in Assen for me and the truth is that in the morning it was a bit difficult for us, but it is normal on a new circuit. In the afternoon and in the water we have defended ourselves well, leading the session, and that makes me happy. But I'm mostly happy to be back. Let's see tomorrow what day we have and we will continue working along the same lines ”.
