The German Grand Prix started on Friday at the Sachsenring circuit with the absence of Héctor Garzó, who is recovering from the burns suffered on his right leg after the crash in Montmeló, replaced on this occasion by a young 19-year-old rider, Alonso López.
On the day of his debut with the Kalex, Alonso López did a very good job together with the FlexBox HP 40 technical team. In the morning he focused on getting to know the bike and feeling comfortable on it, without looking at the stopwatch. In the afternoon, López has taken a big step forward, improving his best time by almost a second, which has led him to finish the day in the twenty-first position in the combined times table, with a best stopwatch of 1:25.600.
Most complicated day for Stefano Manzi. The Italian of the FlexBox HP 40 continues to accuse the lack of sensation on his bike and looking for solutions to improve his speed. Looking for that limit, Manzi has suffered a crash without consequences, but that has forced him to finish the session early. He ends the twenty-eighth day with a best time of 1:25.906.
Alonso López, 21st, 1:25,600 (+1,403)
"I am very happy with today. It was the first time I got on the Kalex and the feeling has been very good, as well as with the team. We have also improved the time a lot from one session to the next, so I am happy and I want to thank the team and sponsors for this opportunity and see if tomorrow we can do even better."
Stefano Manzi, 28th, 1:25.906 (+1.709)
"Unfortunately, today has been a difficult day for us. In the morning we were not fast and in the afternoon neither, and also when we mounted the new tire in the afternoon I suffered a crash. Tomorrow morning we will have to improve and this afternoon we will work with the team to find a better set-up. "
