Exciting Saturday from the hand of the MotoE World Cup and its E-Pole format -the contest for pole position in one lap opportunity- and in which today the Pons Racing 40 riders, Torres and Iwema, have been fourth and fourteenth, respectively.
Taking a big step forward in terms of setting and sensations on the Energica bike, Torres did a good last free practice session, which allowed him to go with confidence to the E-Pole. Sito Pons's pupil completed a good lap, setting a time of 1:43.478 to place himself in fourth position, aiming for everything in tomorrow's race.
I also step forward from Iwema. The Dutch Pons Racing 40 rider, who races at home, is still in the process of understanding how to ride the MotoE and today he improved his feeling and time. Tomorrow he will start from the fourteenth position and hopes to get closer to the group that precedes him, thus confirming the improvement made.
Jordi Torres, 4th, 1: 43.478 (+0.364)
"A very worked day today. In the morning we have taken a big step forward and we have been much more competitive, which we have taken for the E-Pole in the afternoon. In the E-Pole, the bike was at its best, everything has worked well, but I haven't finished making a perfect lap, failing in some things, but we started in a very good fourth position. Looking ahead to tomorrow it will be important to be in the group and fight to get the maximum. Hopefully the weather respects us and let's have a dry race".
Jasper Iwema, 14th, 1: 46.879 (+3.765)
"I'm not very happy with today, although we have taken a step forward. We have improved the bike, I feel good but I have to change the way I ride a lot, change the lines on a circuit that I know very well and it is not easy. We started from the fourteenth position, it is not bad and in the race we will go with confidence to achieve a good result".
